First time in and was not disappointed. The customer service was amazing super friendly, and the food was delicious. Good location, this city definitely needed some more restaurants downtown. Has plenty of parking and nice ambiance.
First and foremost they have wonderful service. The owner took our order and had great etiquette. They only have a single unisex restroom, but that's to be expected in downtown. Kept up well, so that's a plus. There were 3 other groups of people in there and the noise level was pretty tame. I asked if they will have speakers out front for some country music, and he said they typically have live performances on Friday and Saturday's. 1/2025 2 Meat plate $26.95 tri-tip, ribs, coleslaw, fries and Texas toast. Everything was great. The ribs were large and had a proper amount of sauce on it, not too much. It had some fat on it and that's welcome. The tri-tip had a proper smoke ring and I loved the seasoning that was on the edges. Goes great with their properly spiced and tangy bbq sauce. The fries were (I think) beer battered. They gave us a HEAPING amount for a side (see picture). They were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The Texas toast is good, but I think the timing must have been off, because it was cold and the butter may have coagulated by the time it got to our table. Lastly the Coleslaw was a bit too sweet for my liking. Nonetheless this joint gets high marks to give it a 5 out of 5. Come by on Friday nights when they have live musical performances! We will be bringing the kids by.
We found this gem while we were passing through on a road trip and needed some fuel to keep going another 4 hours. The reviews were great, so we stopped in and were immediately met with a warm welcome from the gentleman working behind the counter. We ordered the 2 meat plate - we chose brisket and tri tip with a side of Mac n cheese and a Caesar salad. The portions were generous and definitely enough for two people to share. Not only that, the meat was tender and delicious. The brisket was my favorite, but the tri tip stood out as well and was a thousand times better than the last tri tip I had recently! Service was quick and hospitable. We scarfed our food down and were on our way, but we decided we would definitely be back next time we're passing through. Would definitely recommend!
Driving through and I had a craving for BBQ. So, so thankful we decided to try this place. Clean restaurant, welcoming staff, and amazing food. I had the brisket sandwich that was super tender and had just enough bbq sauce so that it didn't over power the meat flavor. Also had a side of Mac and cheese and it was yummy. Will definitely be coming back!
We would stop here before or after Bass Lake trip. This place is the best there is. Really Texan BBQ! The pulled pork, Tri Tip and Brisket is to die for. Everything is tasty and Awesome service. My son also had the Hot Link Sandwich, the bun is so fresh and overall everything is just wonderful.
In the a small town in the middle of nowhere, this bbq spot became my families #1, my mom is already telling all her friends. First, their service was so friendly and nice, like we got took'n care of, fast service, the owner or manager was friendly, was talking to us and not about the food he's was having conversations with us which I liked. Secondly, their food was amazin. We got their big platter, 3 lb meat, 3 sides, and toast. We chose BRISKET, TRI-TIP, PORK RIBS, FRIES, MAC&CHEESE, COLESLAW. There all good brisket was amazin, not a fan of pork ribs and I became one, tri-tip usually dry this was not. Mac& cheese prolly best I've ever had from a business. Only heads up is the coleslaw was unexpectedly sweet, but was alright. Lastly, dessert churro donut, small and good Lt dessert that I needed. If we ever past by this town again we're coming here.
Right smack dab in the middle of downtown! Kiddy corner from Bank of America. Can't miss it! I don't know that I've ever had trouble with parking. Street parking seems to be plentiful no matter what time of day. You walk in and ambiance is that of a bbq spot. A delicious bbq spot, that is! The gentleman that has helped us the couple times we've been there has been pleasant. This last time I called in my order and gave me an estimate of 15 minutes. We ordered two 4 meat platters (one with all baby back and the other with 1/2 brisket and 1/2 tri tip). All the meat was super tender. You picked up the brisket and it fell apart. The sides we chose (both options come with two) were potato salad and baked beans. They were to be as expected. I think potato salad is made with the small yellow butter potatoes. We also tried their pulled pork egg rolls. In reality they should be called Pulled Pork Chimichanga's! One order can be a shared meal in it of itself. Each was packed with so much meat! Our order came out to under $100. It fed 4 adults for two days..lol! You can taste the smoke not to mention the love and care put into their craft. They apparently have live music on Friday's. Great date night place. We will be back!
I loved the old location but the new spot is even better. The decor is really nice and there's plenty of tables to sit and enjoy your meal. Of course Ken and his team are amazing and customer service is always on point. My favorite for a long time was the pulled pork egg rolls which you can get with other types of meat if you're not into pork- brisket is delicious! Today I tried their loaded Mac and cheese and oooooh my goodness! Where has this been all my life? If you haven't tried it you are missing out! Keep in mind that portions are generous so if you want to try a few things and your meal buddy is willing, get stuff to share. My mom and I get the egg rolls, a sandwich to split and fries or coleslaw and leave feeling full and happy, with usually something to take home too. BF and I were starving today so we got the egg rolls, tri tip sandwich, garlic fries and loaded Mac and cheese and have a whole second meal to enjoy tomorrow.
Outstanding, authentic BBQ with top notch service and down home Texan ambiance. Happened to be in the area for business and was pleasantly surprised to find this place while walking our dog. The owner, Kenneth, actually came out and invited us in as we peaked in the window! "Come on in, we are pet friendly!" Generous portions of beef and pork ribs, tri tip, brisket, and chicken, all wonderfully moist, smoked, and flavorful! If you appreciate good BBQ, you will love this place! Will certainly return should we be in the area again! Thanks, Kenneth!
I loved this place. All around it was a GREAT experience. We drove all the way from Stockton just to try the bbq here and we got more than we expected. My family and I have visited Texas several times and yes there really is nothing like Texas bbq. The owner himself is from Texas and is the most hospitable person we have EVER encountered. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and indulged us with his kindness and food! The atmosphere he creates here is genuine and welcoming. I highly recommend this establishment.
